Pride month is well underway, and the return of the Anchorage Pride Parade, a major Celebrate Pride event and a block party in Spenard are just a few of the ways to get involved.
is putting on this year’s parade, which returns after a three-year absence. The parade will circle the Delaney Park Strip between E and I streets, ending at the Celebrate Pride ‘23 Festival. Attendees are encouraged to fly rainbow flags, put on their brightest and boldest outfits and join the celebration.This is an all-ages and family-friendly event that will include many local vendors, food trucks, beer garden, open mic performances and community performances.
queer artist vendors/booths are another highlight of the block party, and drinks and food will be available at the Writer’s Block.The annual drag show and party in Spenard is debuting a new format. Curated by host Athena Nuff, this show will be a combination of a dance party with drag performances from Venus Vixen, BeyQuance, Dr. Feelgood, Ice Watah, Cry Baby and Nuff.
