Roundabouts were installed at three Second Street intersections to slow down traffic, and hopefully make midtown and uptown residents safer.

“This is exciting,” Bullock said, while talking to reporters at the Second and Verbeke Street roundabout — one of three installed during the two-way project. “The residents themselves are very pleased.” Bullock said roundabouts are part of the “new millennium” of traffic safety and are an energy-efficient alternative to traffic lights.
