Charles Baumgartner is charged in connection with the beating death of 31-year-old Curley Parker, who was found dead in a Harrisburg apartment on Aug. 4.

Although originally the death was classified as suspicious, it appeared Parker had been in a physical altercation, and an autopsy found he died from multiple traumatic injuries. His death was later ruled a homicide. Two other witnesses had encounters with Baumgartner after the fact in which he referenced fighting a person, with one person saying he knew he was in trouble because the person he fought had died.
