is hosting a celebration of Black culture from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11. The event will take place in the Gatehouse Visitor Center at 2686 Oak Hill Road, Peninsula.
The event will explore the power of storytelling and the experiences of Black history. It will highlight Black narratives through living history, music, and art. Interactive experiences will connect guests to history in new and unique ways.On-going programs includepresented by the Kent Area Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.Primary source discovery table exploring the story of Sojourner Truth.
The event will take place inside the Gatehouse Visitor Center, historic sites are closed for the season. Grounds will be open to walk, weather-permitting. Admission is free. Registration is not required but preferred. Pre-registered guests, who check in at the event, will be entered to win a special prize. Registration can be found at
