The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday at 40th Street and Jefferson Avenue S.W.
A man was shot to death Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, in southwest Birmingham. A man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon near a busy southwest Birmingham intersection.
Officers arrived at the location went to a small business at the intersection and found a man unresponsive on the ground under that building’s awning. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced the man dead on the scene. He said anyone who was out there that may have left the scene needs to come forward if they have information.
