Andres Gimenez agreed to a seven-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Guardians.The key piece in the Mets’ trade for Francisco Lindor in 2021, Gimenez played in his first full MLB season last year and earned an All-Star nod, slashing .297/.371/.466 with 17 home runs, 26 doubles, 69 RBIs, 20 steals and 66 runs while winning a Gold Glove at second base.
The Athletic reported that the team has discussed contracts with Rosario, starter Triston McKenzie, outfielder Steven Kwan, and reliever Trevor Stephan. Cleveland signed star third baseman Jose Ramirez to a contract extension last year worth $141 million over seven seasons.
