New interface controls make text functions quicker and easier to access.
For some time now, Google Photos has been clever enough to detect text found within your photos, allowing you to copy and paste such information much as you would from a standard text document.
Now, according to the report, some Google Photos users are receiving new pop-up controls designed specifically to speed up this process. When text is found within an image, users in the trial group will see a row of pop-up buttons offering direct access to selected text-based functions from, Google’s advanced image recognition tool. Options include ‘Copy text’, ‘Listen’, ‘Crop’ and ‘Markup’. Users without the updated controls get a single ‘Copy text from image’ pop-up instead.
Tapping on any of the new buttons takes the user directly to the relevant Google Lens function, saving the user from having to navigate their way through the many options found in the Google Lens interface.
