We chat with GoodOmens season 2 stars Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, & Shelley Conn about working with David Tennant and Michael Sheen and what excites them most about their character arcs in season 2 of the primevideo series:
Good Omens follows the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale after they stopped Armageddon. The pair are resuming their lives on Earth among humanity, having escaped punishment from Heaven and Hell, when a surprise visitor shows up at Aziraphale's bookshop: an archangel Gabriel, but with no memory of who he is. Aziraphale wants to help figure out what happened to Gabriel, while Crowley is reluctant to get involved, especially if it means helping an archangel.
Shelley Conn: They're a gift really aren't they. They're a gift to work with, because they know what they're doing. They're very present, they know how to play, they know how to be a good scene partner, and they make a lot of space for you to get stuck in. It's with genuine generosity. It's kind of like they're very impressive, but they're not intimidating.
I was like, "Wow. Okay." And we just told them a little bit, and we remembered which one was a bit longer, and all that kind of stuff, and then the hat on top instead of the fly. It felt like an invitation to accept what had come before, somehow digest it, and not think too much about it, because you can get caught up in that. But just kind of use it as a springboard and jump off into what was then... it's the same world, it's just a different chapter.
