An upcoming docuseries will dive into the controversies and BTS drama surrounding Glee.
Discovery+ is currently in development on a docuseries that will cover the dark history of Glee. The Fox musical comedy, which ran from 2009 through 2015, followed the exploits of the various members of a high school Glee club, led by artistically minded Spanish teacher Will Schuester against the will of his arch-nemesis, cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester .
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Over the course of its six-season run, Glee was an incredibly popular series, making stars of nearly performer in the cast, many of whom appeared in a live concert tour for the series, eventually becoming the group with the most singles to hit the Billboard Hot 100 charts since The Beatles. However, the show was first rocked by tragedy when Monteith passed away from an overdose between seasons 4 and 5.
Everything That Could Be Discussed In The Glee Docuseries Even if the series stuck with only covering the period of time that Glee was airing, there would still be plenty to cover, between Monteith's death and Michele's alleged behavior. However, the events that followed the end of Glee will likely provide the bulk of the runtime, including the disappearance of Rivera and the eventual discovery of her death by drowning in California's Lake Piru in 2020.
Glee's dark history has certainly featured many periods that the docuseries can cover. Some audience members will feel that it is too soon to be diving into these particular controversies. However, there are likely quite a few fans of the series who are curious about the impact of these events on the surviving cast members and how they've been able to handle such a string of difficulties.
