Breakout sitcom Ghosts has been renewed for season 2 on CBS for its 2022-23 comedy lineup. Adapted from the British BBC sitcom of the same name, Ghosts follows a young couple who inherit a beautiful country house, only to discover it is inhabited by the ghosts of previous residents. The show will join The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola, and Young Sheldon, which have also been renewed by the network.
The four shows are the most watched comedies on TV this season, and their success has helped to bolster further success for CBS. Ghosts has performed well in its debut season, and, as reported by THR, this has led to CBS making the decision to renew. Speaking about the success of the show, and the plan for season 2, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl seemed very enthusiastic.
Starring Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, the show is produced by CBS Studios, Lionsgate Television, and BBC Studios in Los Angeles. Showrunners Port and Wiseman have previously worked together as co-executive producers on successful shows like New Girl and The Crazy Ones, so they clearly have pedigree. And with the Ghosts season 1 averaging 8.06 million viewers per episode, CBS will be hoping season 2 can perform as strongly. .
