that the breach involved consumers’ names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport and ID numbers, and account information, including credit and debit card numbers. Medical and health information also was accessed.as of March 31.
Already, multiple law firms have begun investigations into the incident with the possibility of bringing legal action against the credit union. San Antonio has experienced a rise in cyberattacks in recent years, with many described as ransomware attacks. Hackers have hit educational institutions, as well as private companies and local government agencies.
At least two lawsuits have been filed against the university over the breach that let hackers gain access to personal information.
