The strongest meteor shower of the year is set to light up the sky this week as it peaks across New York City Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

The astronomical event showers over 100 meteors per hour across the sky when spotted from dark locations. Moonlight may wash out some of the weaker meteors, so the shooting stars should be most visible in the hours just before dawn Wednesday.
