Exclusive: The Arnold Schwarzenegger Netflix spy series FUBAR debuts a new piece by composer Tony Morales (tmcomposes) before the soundtrack release:
Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in FUBAR, the eight-episode action-comedy series now streaming on Netflix. Schwarzenegger plays a retired CIA operative who is pulled back into the field one last time only to join his spy daughter Emma on assignment. The series was created by Nick Santora, who is known for his work on hit shows like Prison Break and Scorpion.
To help navigate FUBAR’s big story twists and specific tone, Santora and co. turned to composer Tony Morales. Morales, who has previously collaborated with Santora on Scorpion, Most Dangerous Game, and The Fugitive, created a rich score that bounces between sweeping orchestral pieces and lively band numbers. The piece has a distinct retro feel, reminiscent of spy movie themes from the 1960s and ’70s. The album itself will showcase the full range of music that Morales wrote for the series and will serve as a perfect way to relive key moments while waiting for FUBAR season 2 details.
I knew as soon as I read the scripts that creating the score for FUBAR was going to be a blast . This series is a super fun thrill ride with tonal variety. Our show runner, Nick Santora, wanted a score that could deliver on the classic action movie sound in addition to threading the comedy & heart that are at the core of the story.
