A person was fatally shot Tuesday and a second person was arrested in connection, authorities said.
According to social media posts, officers responded to reports of the shooting in the 4200 block of Doane Street in the city’s Grimmer neighborhood and took a person into custody. Soon after, police said the injured person died, adding that there were no outstanding suspects.
Although police did not initially provide a time for the shooting, Fremont firefighters responded to a medical emergency call near Lindenwood Street shortly after 5:15 p.m. In a separate community alert at 6:15 p.m., police said Lindenwood Street was closed between Crestwood and Doane streets until further notice.There has been a shooting in the 4200 block of Doane St. One person is in custody.
