The idea behind Nicholas Lyndhurst's new character in the Frasier reboot is disrespectful to one of the original show's best cast members.
The Frasier reboot is introducing a brand new ensemble, including a character who is ultimately disrespectful to one of the original show's most important cast members. After years of getting the reboot off the ground, Kelsey Grammer finally found Frasier Crane's next small screen home in Paramount+. The snobby and high-brow psychiatrist is set to return as Frasier Crane in the revival, which will see him start his fourth and potentially final act.
Grammer has nothing but great things to say about Lyndhurst. Looking back at the actor's acting portfolio, there is no doubt that he is a phenomenal performer with impeccable comedic timing, which is very important to a fast-paced, banter-filled sitcom like Frasier. Per the character description for Lyndhurst's character, Alan is supposedly Frasier's old mate from college who is now a professor.
