Framber Valdez set another notable personal milestone in a dominant outing as the Astros beat the Phillies to end the regular season.

Valdez is a workhorse, the sort of durable and dependable starter so many clubs crave but fewer and fewer are actually producing.
Valdez’s start propelled the Astros to a 3-2 win in their final game of the regular season. Houston won 106 games — second-most in franchise history — and will open the American League Division Series against Toronto or Seattle on Oct. 11 at Minute Maid Park. “I felt very happy to reach 201 innings,” Valdez said through an interpreter. “I feel very proud just to continue working and it’s hopefully something I can continue doing.”
