.FoxNews is shaking up its weekend prime-time lineup with a rotation of new hosts and contributors, but LawrenceBJones3 Cross Country will hold steady in its Saturday night spot as one of the network’s strongest weekend prime-time shows.
Lawrence Jones made his debut as the youngest black solo host of a cable news program last January with his show at 9 p.m. on Saturdays. Since, he has averaged about 1 million viewers total and around 90,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic, according to a recent ratings report.Jones joined Fox News in 2018. He has worked as a guest host, enterprise reporter for Fox & Friends, and contributor on Hannity with man-on-the-street-style interview segments.
“I come from humble beginnings,” Jones told the Dallas Morning News. “I thought I wanted to be in elected office one day, and now I really despise politicians. I get to interview them. And so, you know, I love my job. I guess. The one thing that has not changed is my love for people. And I think that really helped me a lot.”
Brian Kilmeade’s One Nation and Life, Liberty & Levin with Mark Levin will also remain in their respective Saturday and Sunday 8 p.m. slots. Among the changes, Fox News announced that The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton would end its run, effective Saturday. The network said he will “focus on his new California nonpartisan policy organization launching next week.” Fox said Hilton would step into a contributor role.The network said it would introduce The Big Weekend Show at 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, along with debuting FOX News Saturday Night, which will feature a rotating lineup of hosts at 10 p.m. Sunday’s 10 p.m.
Fox has filled the Monday through Friday prime-time slot once held by Carlson with Fox News Tonight, which has featured a rotation of hosts, including Kilmeade, Jones, Gowdy, and Kayleigh McEnany.
