Former Australian PM Kevin Rudd to discuss U.S.-China relations in UCSD lecture [Breaking]
will discuss U.S.-China relations on Friday during a free public forum sponsored by UC San Diego.
The forum, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will be held in Roth Auditorium at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, 2880 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive in La Jolla, across the street from UCSD. . There is ample paid parking.The talk, which will last about 75 minutes, will be moderated by Caroline Freund, dean of UCSD’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. Chancellor Pradeep Khosla will give opening remarks.
“As a two-time prime minister of Australia and president of Asia Society, Kevin Rudd has a unique understanding of Chinese politics, is intimately acquainted with the recent leaders in China and the U.S., and has written extensively on U.S.-China relations,” Freund told the Union-Tribune.“Unlike many others writing on China, who see things as either black or white, Rudd delves into the gray areas.
