The Bulldogs have not allowed a defensive touchdown through the first two games of the season.
“It was a great atmosphere and I’m thankful to have played here because my father and grandfather played here,” Passaic Tech head coach Matt Demarest said. “This one meant a lot to me and my family. I’m thankful that Zone6ix Sports allowed us to play in this and against Union City. That’s as well coached a team as there is in North Jersey.”
Demarest gathered his team after the game and screamed in praise for his defensive backs. He didn’t do it out of excitement – he did it because he feels they get slighted in recognition. “It was a really gritty win today,” Dye said. “We have a lot to work on as an offense and the defense came up big-time for us. I have no hate against Union City and Coach [Wilbur] Valdez runs a great program, but when we play them, it’s about who wants it more and who prepares better. It’s about who shows up between the lines.”
“We have to capitalize on drives and downs,” Dye said. “When it’s third and short, we have to make a play. We have to get first downs to end games. Overall, we have to have more poise and execute better.
