The 5-foot-9, 155-pound Stare is following in their footsteps. He has an offer from Platteville, so he may finally get the chance to take the field with his brothers.“When I got pulled up as a freshman, I was going to play with Garrett, but unfortunately, he tore his ACL. But he was one of the biggest mentors to me in what to do and how to do it.”
All of those talents were on display Friday night during host Neuqua’s 10-6 win over Minooka in Naperville. Stare helped lead a defensive effort that allowed only 134 yards. He was throwing absolute dots right where they needed to be.”“Carter is probably the best route runner in the state,” Mohler said. “I don’t think there is a single DB that can guard him.
Stare, who has a 4.0 GPA, is smart enough to know he’s only as strong as his team and he doesn’t view himself as “the guy” on the team.“It may seem like a cop-out answer,” Stare said. “But it’s my family — my dad and my brothers.”
