While employers may not be able to stop a worker from unknowingly bringing a virus to the workplace, they canTo start, creating safer spaces requires more robust and frequent disinfection, particularly of high-touch surfaces such as desks and tabletops, chairs, telephones, keyboards, doors and light switches, elevator buttons, cabinet handles, and more.

Taking proactive steps to create a safe and clean workplace is not only good business but it’s also good employee management. The pandemic has undoubtedly increased anxiety about becoming sick, butin knowing their office is being cleaned regularly. In fact, 89.9% of workers believe robust workplace cleaning protocols are important, and 38.3% would go so far as to consider changing their jobs if their workplace was not cleaned frequently.

As Texas employers look to continue the return-to-office momentum amid a looming flu season, businesses must adopt a multi-layered approach to cleaning — and communicate the actions they are taking — to set the stage for a full-scale return to office push in all corners of the nation.
