In the final days of Florida’s Legislative Session, House and Senate leaders released a record-breaking $112 billion spending plan.

In order to meet that requirement, a resolution was passed to extend the session into Monday. This only applies to the budget proposal, meaning all other bills that are still pending by Friday at midnight will most likely end there. The Legislature also put $200 million toward an October gas tax holiday. Leaders said they chose that month because it’s when fewer visitors are in Florida. The decision came months after Governor DeSantis asked for a five month break.
