This weekend's pleasant spring weather is expected to turn to showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Sunny, breezy weather is expected Saturday with a high of 73 degrees. The same high is expected for Sunday with southeast winds anticipated to reach up to 15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph, the weather service added.
A strong, low pressure system will blow into the region early Monday and bring an environment favorable for thunderstorms into the afternoon and evening, the NWS said. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 75 degrees during the day and low of 63 at night.An 80 percent chance of precipitation Monday night will lead to heavy rain that may cause street flooding, according to the NWS.
Showers will continue into Tuesday morning but are expected to clear up after 1 p.m. with sunny skies and a high of 74 degrees, the NWS said.
