Dedicated on Sunday at One World Day, the Pakistani Cultural Garden is the newest garden to be added to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.
Phase 1 of the garden cost $235,000 and includes a plaza with walkways and signage of important people and events in Pakistan, including the creation of Pakistan and the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
For now, an evergreen tree will mark its place, similar to the evergreen tree that the board first planted into the plot of land that would eventually become the Pakistani Garden. “Pakistani expatriates from all over the country have taken a lot of interest in the Cleveland area because it’s in the North and already ideally located en route to Chicago, where we have a large community, and to New York,” Athar says.
