A crash early Monday on the 710 Freeway killed five people in north Long Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP spokesperson Officer Angelia Gonzales said the deadly single-vehicle crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. on the 710 at the 91 Freeway connector. Five people inside the car, including the driver, were killed and one was taken to a hospital. The condition of that person was not known. Highway patrol officers on the scene determined that the vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, struck an impact attenuator and caught fire.
