Great Wolf Lodge breaks ground in the Houston area today. Plans includes a 95,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, 532-room resort, and the Great Wolf Adventure Park, a 58,000-square-foot entertainment center that will offer 'a live action-adventure game'
Great Wolf Resorts Inc. heralded its move into the Houston region Thursday morning with a ground-breaking ceremony for an entertainment and lodging complex in Webster that will include a 95,000-square-foot indoor waterpark.the 400,000-square-foot Great Wolf Lodge Gulf Coast Texas will be open year-round and include a 532-room resort.
“Instead of going out to dinner and then going their separate ways, they ate together around the dining room table, or instead of going out to the movies, they stayed home and watched Netflix,” he said. “One of the things our research has shown us is that families want to cling to some of the those COVID experiences of being together, and that’s what we offer.”
Construction will require some 600 workers onsite during the peak of construction, according to a press release. Great Wolf Lodge will be the first major project in the 120-acre Flyway development, which is planned by Houston-based Medistar as a retail, dining and entertainment hub including a hotel, outdoor music venue and a boardwalk along Clear Creek.
