The weather service says 1-2 inches of snow is expected to fall in the Salt Lake Valley and 3-6 inches in the mountains, but the storm should pass through quickly.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Wasatch Mountains — including the areas of Mantua, Logan Summit, Alta and Brighton — that will be in effect until 6 p.m. The weather service also expects 3-6 inches of snow to fall in those areas, and perhaps more in the upper Cottonwood canyons, by mid-afternoon.
