it has been tracking a tropical disturbance for days that has been meandering over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico and could bring heavy rainfall over portions of the Florida peninsula this weekend.the tropical disturbance would bring heavy downpours on Thursday and Friday, and some brief street flooding, with widespread rainfall reaching one to three inches in the next few days.a near-normal 2023 Atlantic hurricane season.

Asomewhere between 12 and 17 total named storms in 2023, and of those storms the agency said 5 to 9 could become hurricanes—storms with winds of 74 mph or higher. The agency also predicted 1 to 4 major hurricanes—those that are category 3, 4 or 5 with winds of 111 mph or greater.
