Sochan might not have all of the answers yet. But he’s not the kind of bloke who backs down when things get dodgy.“He’s just out there looking for a challenge, looking for trouble,” Spurs center Jakob Poeltl said. “But I like it. He’s got that fighting spirit.”
But what stood out on his game tape from Baylor — where he came off the bench for much of his only college season — was the way he made his presence felt even when he wasn’t handling the ball.And it wasn’t just one type of opposing player who felt this way. “It’s amazing, to be a rookie and be able to guard Jamal Murray to Aaron Gordon and whoever else he has been matched up ,” Spurs guard Josh Richardson said. “I think he’s done an admirable job so far.”Twelve games into his professional career, Sochan is not yet a candidate for any all-defensive teams.
