The same week the FBI announced a man had been arrested on he charges he robbed an Elgin bank another bank in Elgin was robbed, officials said.
The latter robbery occurred about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a man entered the Chase Bank at 1600 Larkin Ave., implied he had a weapon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, the FBI said in a news release.Described as being Black or Hispanic, the suspect and was wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt and a tan or black hat. A photo taken from suveillance camera video was released by the FBI, which asked for help in identifying him.
The FBI says they have identified this man as Devonte M. Eaton, of Elgin, who has been arrested on a federal bank robbery charge in connection with the Aug. 15 holdup of a PNC Bank in Elgin.
