Drivers near Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland are asked to avoid the area after a fatal crash shut down a Southwest Side road Tuesday morning. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announced the closure of the westbound lanes of West Military Drive at Luke Boulevard just after 7 a.m. One eastbound lane is open to allow access to Lackland.
A man was walking in the road when he was hit by two vehicles about 5:30 a.m., media reports said. Both drivers stopped to help. The sheriff’s office has not released additional information, and it is unclear when the West Military Drive will fully open.
