STOCKTON — The family of a woman killed by a Stockton police officer during a February pursuit has signaled its intent to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the officer and the department, records show.
“How can an unarmed, 54-year-old grandmother without a criminal record and only an observed misdemeanor traffic violation, be killed like this?” Gary Gwilliam, an Oakland-based civil attorney, said in the news release. “This officer discharged 33 bullets into the vehicle in less than 30 seconds.
