DENVER – Precautionary evacuations were underway Monday in a subdivision of Jefferson County due to a grass fire, according to a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office.
The Foothills Fire Protection District tweeted shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday that firefighters were on scene of a “wildland fire” in the Summit Ranch neighborhood. A sheriff’s office spokesperson, however, told Denver7 just after 3:45 p.m. that precautionary evacuations had been ordered as there were a few homes near Summit Ranch Drive, near where the fire was reported.A map of the evacuation order is below.
