Containment stood at 5% Tuesday night; one first responder has been injured on the job, per Cal Fire.
JACKSON, Calif. – Firefighters on Tuesday gained some ground against the Electra Fire raging along the Amador-Calaveras county line, but more than 1,200 structures remained threatened and portions of both counties were still under evacuation orders.
“The Electra Fire is actively burning, with short upslope runs,” Cal Fire said in an incident update. “Short-range spotting with rollout is contributing to the fire spread.” The fire is threatening 1,217 structures and “critical infrastructure,” according to Cal Fire. No structures had been reported destroyed or damaged as of Tuesday evening.
In Amador County, evacuation orders extended from the west end of Clinton and Butte Mountain roads east to the intersection of Highway 88 and French Gulch Road and south of Highway 88 to the Mokelumne River, excluding Rossbridge, Previtali, West Clinton, Irish Town, Narcissus and Hilltop roads, according to Cal Fire.
