El Cajon police investigating shooting of teen in motel [Breaking]
El Cajon police are investigating the apparent shooting of a 16-year-old girl in a motel earlier this week that left her with a traumatic head injury.
Officers found the victim inside the El Cajon Inn and Suites on Main Street near East Madison Avenue just after 10 a.m. on Monday. Police went to the motel at the request of the teen’s family, who thought their daughter was dead inside one of the rooms, Sgt. Tenaya Webb said in a statement.Officers arrived and found the girl alone in the room suffering from a traumatic head injury, Webb said. She was transported to a hospital, where medical staff determined she was likely the victim of a gunshot wound.No other details were immediately released.
Authorities are seeking to identify possible suspects and witnesses. Anyone with information was urged to call the El Cajon at 441-5530 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
