The EF-1 tornado began at 4:49 p.m. Sunday about four miles northeast of Middletown and just north of Delaware Route 896 in a field just west of North Bayberry Parkway, officials said.
The path of the tornado was 1.19 miles in length and 200 yards in width with an estimated peak wind speed of 100 miles per hour. The tornado caused minor damage to homes and a park while uprooting trees. No deaths or injuries occurred however.An EF-1 is considered a"weak" tornado with wind speeds between 86 and 110 mph.This article tagged under:
