Astros' Dusty Baker details his lineup decisions with Martín Maldonado, Yainer Diaz

The Astros have a lot of faith in Maldonado's abilities behind the plate, including how he calls a game and controls the pitchers, which is why he's started 44 of the team's 60 games at catcher. Diaz has 14 starts at catcher, three at designated hitter and two at first base. Five of Diaz's starts at catcher have been paired with Hunter Brown's starts on the mound, but Maldonado has caught the rookie in his past six outings, including Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
