This summer could be the last for Sleepy Hollow Pool, which lost more than 2.7 million gallons of water this year because of leaks, Dundee Township Park District Executive Director Dave Peterson said.

Sleepy Hollow Pool dates back to the 1950s, when it was built as a private club at 825 Winmoor Drive in the village of Sleepy Hollow. Beyond that are the costs to repair grouting and to caulk below the existing gutter, which would add another $20,000 to $50,000 to the bill, and to roll back the zero depth portion of the pool’s liner to remove and replace damaged concrete, adding another $50,000 to $200,000, the estimates said.
Option two: the 62-year-old pool, which last underwent major renovations in the mid-1980s, could be removed and replaced. Typical outdoor concrete pools have a lifespan of 50 to 70 years if properly maintained, WT Group said.
