George Jensen, 40, of Akron, died after being shot on Interstate 76 in Norton, police say.
NORTON, Ohio — A driver opened fire on another vehicle in an apparent road rage incident on Interstate 76, killing a 40-year-old Akron man, police say.
The shooting occurred at about 5:35 p.m. Wednesday on I-76 near Ohio 21, police say. The driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro, believed to be a 2018 or newer, fired multiple shots at another vehicle as it drove past, according to police. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as George Jensen of Akron, ended up crashing into the median, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. Jensen was taken to Akron General Medical Center with a gunshot wound but was pronounced dead at 6:14 p.m.Police say anyone with information on the shooting can call detectives at 330-706-0084.
