A 92-year-old man died early Tuesday when the vehicle he was driving the wrong way on I-80 went off the highway in Passaic County and crashed, authorities said. Henry F. Sohl, of Oradell, was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-80 when the crash occurred about 3:35 a.m., according to New Jersey State Police.
An initial investigation showed Sohl’s vehicle entered the left shoulder near milepost 53, striking a metal electrical box and concrete barrier, according to Trooper II Charles Marchan. “As a result of the crash, Sohl sustained fatal injuries,” Marchan said, adding that the accident remains under investigation.
