Jay Cameron is leading a global team of game developers working on an ambitious indie title.
Cameron is the founder and CEO of Dragonfly Games, the independent studio developing Beyond the Oaks. The game is a mix of fantasy, sci-fi and horror that Cameron expects will be finished sometime in 2024.
“I really wanted to make it compete with triple-A titles. It’s an indie studio, we’re small, we’re kind of a mom and pop shop, but we’re really trying to show that here’s the technology. The technology that we’re using is some of the best technology in the world, and this is allowing us to create these high-production value projects,” said Cameron.
“The overarching themes are combining and contrasting magic and technology, showing how they’re similar, a similar phenomenon, and how they are interconnected, and how we can use those two things to be good or bad,” said Cameron.Article contenttap here to see other videos from our teamThe game is an open-world action adventure title, but is also very story driven.
“The funding is so behind that people who do have the ability to make large, big projects will leave before they finish it to get funding,” said Cameron.
