Pence sat for an interview with CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. In it, he blasted the indictment as political prosecution and said it was unreasonable to take such unprecedented action over campaign finance issues.“I think the unprecedented indictment of a former president of the United States on a campaign finance issue is an outrage,” Pence said.Pence said the threshold for grand jury indictments was low and implied the move was unfounded.
Blitzer brought up Pence’s status as a law and order politician. He asked the former vice president if Trump should drop out of the 2024 race if convicted.
