The Miami Dolphins are picking up their option on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s contract for the 2024 season. By exercising their option, the Dolphins are guaranteeing Tagovailoa a salary of $23.171 million for the 2024 season.
The Dolphins had until May 1 to make their decision on the fifth-year option.
Although Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing-efficiency rating in the 2022 season, there appeared be some uncertainty about how the Dolphins would proceed with the quarterback after he missed five games because of concussions, including the final two regular-season games and a playoff contest.when asked if he was concerned about Tagovailoa’s durability during a press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine last week.
