Day had given the impression that a full quarterback evaluation of the eventual starter was continuing into the season based on the plan to play both. The usage against Indiana appeared to some to contradict that concept.
“I’m trying not to draw too many hard lines right now,” Day said. “Our goal is to be a really good quarterback room and win games. We have the first few game start to develop a better feel for what that looks like. “I’m disappointed we couldn’t get more on the field with Devin. Hopefully this week we can and continue to evaluate.”
