The Devils are trading defenseman prospect Reilly Walsh to the Boston Bruins.
Walsh, a 2017 third-round pick who has spent the past three seasons with New Jersey’s AHL affiliate , is set to be a restricted free agent this summer and would have had to compete against right-shot defensemen like Dougie Hamilton, John Marino and Simon Nemec if he stayed with the Devils.
