A man is in custody on Thursday after Jefferson County deputies found a woman dead inside a residence in the Meadows area.
At about 1:45 p.m. deputies responded to the 10200 block of West Geddes Circle on a report of a homicide, according to a sheriff’s office news release. A man called 911 and said that there had been a “murder.”
When deputies arrived the resident who made the 911 call was on the front lawn. Deputies found the body inside and took the man into custody for questioning, the release said. The victim had suffered a traumatic injury. Earlier Thursday at 5:10 a.m. deputies responded to the same address on a welfare check. The 911 caller, believed to be the same man, hung up without stating the nature of the emergency. Deputies, at that time, were not able to contact anyone in the home. They did, however, contact the homeowner, who is the mother of the man being questioned, by telephone, the release said.
