An investigation is underway after the decomposing body of a woman was found in a mattress behind homes in Upper Darby. deannadurante has the details:
Upper Darby police said officers responded to the alley behind homes along Greenwood Avenue, off Church Lane, late Sunday night.
"At about quarter to 12 last night, the Upper Darby Township Police Department received a call for, what the caller stated, believed to be human remains wrapped in a mattress," Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said."The uniform patrol division responded and confirmed there were human remains wrapped in what we believe to be an older style mattress."
A police investigation is underway in the rear of the 7000 block of Greenwood Avenue. For the time being, please stay clear of the area. We will update as often as we can.
