As HBO Max pulls 'Westworld' and plans $800 million to $1 billion in extra write-offs, its parent is leaning on third-party deals and a FAST channel to deliver cash.
Meanwhile, a number of other shows will come off the HBO Max platform as WBD looks for license partnerships. Sources tellfor the WBD FAST platform, but showrunners Joy and Nolan were not eager to produce the show for a service that would have required a substantially lower budget.
