After a photo from her date was distributed by police, a Texas woman found out her companion had a reason for acting nervous: Police say that, during a few minutes when he left her in a restaurant, he killed a man.Her date — Erick Aguirre, 29 — appeared in court Thursday on murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man who reportedly had scammed him out of $40.
In the restaurant, though, an employee told them the man was a scammer. Aguirre left the woman at the restaurant and went back to the lot. The woman contacted police on April 13. “She wanted to do the right thing. She wanted to make sure that she came forward and told the police what she knew,” Rick DeToto, the woman’s attorney, told Houston TV station KPRC.
Nix was found with a gunshot wound in the street on the other side of the block. He died in a hospital.
