When it comes to the Phoenix metro the data confirms what many already knew: The Valley has grown, and it has grown older.
Meanwhile, the share of people under 18 is down nearly three points to 23.5% and the share of the population 65 and older increased from 12.3% to 16.6%. There is a range of 10,000-20,000 more people living here now than a decade ago for every age between 55 and 78 years old.At 46.7, not only does the White Non-Hispanic population have a higher median age than all others, but it is also aging the fastest. The median age of Black Valley residents increased from 30.6 to 33.
